The birds nest unmolested
on the cliffs
where fowlers
would prowl
The sheep run unfettered
on the cleit filled
fields
around the village
The ship disappears
and none remain
around the curved
bay
The houses stand
a mute testimony
to lives lived
behind their walls
But time caught up
with their little speck
in the wild
north Atlantic
They scattered
like so many seeds
on the uncaring winds
of change
The bible lies open
at Exodus
A pile of grain
on the table
