Sailing south on an unfamiliar course
remaining in view
but growing small fast
the familiar blue boat
I'll miss the blue and white
of Muirneag at the quay
the triangle of her sternlights
disappearing after midnight
and her reappearance
at 8 am
the dot's now small
and will soon be gone
A new boat is here
faster, more manoeuverable
The Olympic Flame has gone out
we wish her well
