Across the water
new walls proudly
rise from the green
pastures
Intersected by
demure grey stone
walls running down
to the sea
Across the water
lives are lived
storms endured
suns enjoyed
Under the stern face
of the hill above
they go hither
and thither
Old walls
on the empty side
of the water
stand dreaming
Enduring the winds
rain and snow
of countless years
in solitude
None go there now
they left long ago
only remembered
by the old stone walls
