Two months on

The house now empty
and lifeless stands
a heap of sand
is all that remains

A year ago now
was the last party
from where
we said good bye

Two months
have gone by
a long road lies ahead
from the only certainty in life

Light

The lights went out
for the final time
as the house empties
and darkness falls

Light is transferred
elsewhere
where life carries on
insouciant of ending

Where laughter
and joy
think not of the
sadness that came

The house is now void
memories flee
only the birds now remain
to remember
